MinesBrawl
Team minesweeper against the clock
The whole room is one team on the same board. Open cells together, flag the mines you spot, and clear as many boards as you can before the clock hits zero.

How it works
Three steps and your whole team is in.
-
Open a room
Pick the round length (2, 3 or 5 minutes) and the board size, then share the link or the QR code with your team.
-
Clear it together
Everyone opens cells on the same board at the same time, and each move shows up for the rest at once. The first cell is always safe.
-
Mind the mines
Flag the ones you spot so nobody steps on them. The team can set off 3 per board; clear it completely for 10 extra points.

Why it works for a work break
Minesweeper is a small logic puzzle most people already know. Put a whole team on the same board and it turns into something else: people call out what they see, split the board between them and warn each other before a risky move.
Because everyone acts at once, nobody waits. And because the team shares the lives and the score, a mistake is the team's problem to work around, not one person's fault.
It also suits remote and hybrid teams: paste the room link in your chat or show the QR code on a shared screen, and each person joins from their own device.
Ideas for your team
- Split the board into corners so people do not crowd the same spot
- Agree to flag before opening anything next to a number you are unsure about
- Start on easy and move up a size once the team clears two boards in a round
- Write down the team score and try to beat it next week
Frequently asked questions
Is MinesBrawl free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account or download and runs in any modern browser.
Do we compete against each other?
No. The whole room is one team against the clock. The scoreboard shows what each person added, just for fun.
How are points counted?
1 point for each safe cell opened, including the ones that open on their own, plus 10 for the team when a board is cleared. Flags give no points.
What happens when someone hits a mine?
The team loses one of its 3 lives for that board and the mine stays visible. With no lives left the board is lost and a new one is dealt.
How do I place a flag on a phone?
Press and hold the cell, or turn on the flag button so every tap places a flag.
